The Shepherd's Boy and the Wolf　说谎的放羊娃A SHEPHERD-BOY， who watched a flock of sheep near a village， brought out the villagers three or four times by crying out， Wolf！

Wolf！

” and when his neighbors came to help him， laughed at them for their pains.

The Wolf， however， did truly come at last.

The Shepherd-boy， now really alarmed， shouted in an agony of terror： Pray， do come and help me； the Wolf is killing the sheep”； but no one paid any heed to his cries， nor rendered any assistance.

The Wolf， having no cause of fear， at his leisure lacerated or destroyed the whole flock.

有个放羊娃赶着他的羊群到村外很远的地方去放牧。

他老是喜欢说谎，开玩笑，时常大声向村里人呼救，谎称有狼来袭击他的羊群。

开始两三回，村里人都惊慌得立刻跑来，被他嘲笑后，没趣地走了回去。

后来，有一天，狼真的来了，窜入羊群，大肆咬杀。

牧羊娃对着村里拚命呼喊救命，村里人却认为他又在像往常一样说谎，开玩笑，没有人再理他。

结果，他的羊群全被狼吃掉了。

There is no believing a liar， even when he speaks the truth.

这个故事带出的启示就是：那些常常说谎话的人，即使再说真话也无人相信。
