Tunnel fire kills five in east China中国东部隧道火灾，5人死亡Five people were killed after a truck caught fire in a tunnel on an expressway in east China's Zhejiang Province on Tuesday night, the local authorities said.

当地政府称，周二晚，一辆卡车在中国东部浙江省一条高速公路的隧道内起火，造成5人死亡。

A preliminary investigation said the incident happened at around 18:27 Tuesday when a tire of a trailer truck caught fire, igniting the goods aboard.

初步调查显示，事故发生在星期二18点27分左右，当时一辆拖车的轮胎起火，点燃了车上的货物。

A total of 36 people were hospitalized, five of whom died of injuries, according to the traffic police.

据交警称，共有36人住院，其中5人受伤死亡。

Another eight people sustained serious injuries and are receiving treatment now.

另有8人受重伤，目前正在接受治疗。
