The Crab and Its Mother　　小蟹与母蟹　　A CRAB said to her son, "Why do you walk so one-sided, my child?

It is far more becoming to go straight forward.

" The young Crab replied: "Quite true, dear Mother; and if you will show me the straight way, I will promise to walk in it.

" The Mother tried in vain, and submitted without remonstrance to the reproof of her child.

　　Example is more powerful than precept.

　　母蟹对小蟹说：「你不要横爬，为甚么不直着走？

」他答道：「妈妈，请您亲自教我怎样直走，我将照着你的样子走。

」可母蟹根本不会直走，於是小蟹说她笨。

　　这个故事带出的启示就是：教育者自己必须正直地生活，正直地走，才能去教导别人。
