George Clooney is standing up for his friend Meghan Markle.

While promoting his upcoming Hulu series Catch-22, Clooney, 57, slammed the way Meghan, 37, has been treated since joining the royal family and compared her experience to that of the late Princess Diana.

On a much lighter note, Clooney, who attended Meghan and Prince Harry's May wedding with wife Amal Clooney, did reveal whether or not he will be the new royal baby's godfather.

It was announced that Meghan and Prince Harry are expecting their first child in October 2018.

The baby is due in Spring 2019.

Clooney isn't the only close friend of Meghan to come to her defense.
