Wu Chen, a deputy of the National People’s Congress, suggested that Beijing should have a Shougang Cultural Heritage Day.

During that day, Shougang Park not only can introduce a large number of industrial heritage sites and Olympic culture heritage sites, but also hold interactive exhibitions, handicraft workshops and other themed activities to attract people to learn about Shougang's rich history.

Wu said that a base for sports and sci-tech innovation should be established in Shougang Park, making good use of the Winter Olympics heritage.
